How to Make Zero Waste Deodorant DIY Recipe
Suppose you don’t want to buy a pre-made zero waste deodorant from any of the brands mentioned above, don’t worry! You can make your own zero-waste deodorant that is also eco-friendly and will waste no packaging.
Here’s a DIY three-minute recipe found at Polly Barks that we enjoy. It only consists of three ingredients, and it is effortlessly easy to make on your own!
Ingredients Needed:
- 1/4 cup of baking soda
- 1/4 cup of cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons (plus a smidge) of coconut oil
- 5-10 drops of essential oils (optional)
Instructions to Make:
- Melt coconut oil in a small bowl until it becomes completely liquid
- Mix the cornstarch, baking soda, and (essential oils optional), into the coconut oil. Make sure to mix well (add more coconut oil for your desired consistency).
- Put your mixture in a small container and seal it well so the deodorant won’t dry out.

Using a DIY deodorant is very different from commercialized kinds of deodorant-like the ones made by Secret or Dove.
It will take some getting adjusted to, but you are doing yourself and the world a favor by making your deodorant.
